HDMI - how can I stop the PC/Windows/Mediaportal sensing off (1 Viewer)

I run my Acer Revo into a HDMI splitter which feeds several TVs. When I switch the splitter or all of the TVs off then PC or Windows is sensing this and when I turn them back on Mediaportal can sometimes be resized and only showing on 2 thirds of the screen, I have to restart MP in order to get it back full screen.

It would be great if MP could somehow not re-size or make itself maximised on each menu change.

Failing that is there a way I can disable the sensing of the HDMI port being disconnected (I've heard of a pin 19 trick but sounds fiddly).

I imagine there must be a few people using a matrix or splitter so what have people come up with?
