I still need to write a small user-guide, but to enable subtitles you have to add the C:\Subs folder to the folders where MPC-HC picks up subtitles. Like this:

Applications shoulnd't use the root folder as data path, not even for folders. Program Data folder is designed for application data storage.

MediaPortal already stores it's data under Prgram Data, so you could query that folder and create a sub folder under it.

You're right, I just didn't find a way to make the Program Data folder consistent in both XP, Vista and 7. MPC-HC needs to know which folder to look for subtitles in...

By default it is configure to look in .\ and .\Subtitles\ (which is the same folder as the video playing, or a sub-folder to that folder called "Subtitles").

If you know a way to configure the subtitle with a relative path that is the same in all languages and Windows-versions, I'll do that immediately.

You might try the environment variable %ALLUSERSPROFILE% maybe %ALLUSERSPROFILE%\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal\database\headweb\subs\

EDIT: Well I read your question again and noticed that I didn't answered it at all. Then a user had to define that path in confiq. NOT user friendly...

Fair enough, problem is that MPC-HC has to be able to read this variable path. Maybe I should just figure out the path, and then update the users XML-settings to reflect this path. But what if it screws up his config

I noticed a thing when I tried your plug in the last time.

When trying to watch a rented or previewing a movie where the Select bitrate menu only consists of one certain item ('0' bitrate item) the buffering does not start. The buffer progress says NaN.
Typically this occurs on old free movies such as "The Magic Sword"

This fixes the exception mentioned in post #23. Thanks Ministerk!

This also adds the following features:

• Free movies.
• Filter (togglebutton) to view only HD (720p/1080p) movies in results (please note: there are no free HD movies!)

I also added Genre and Director info on rented movies.

You did leave some "filter alert box" debugging code in your plug in. I know it's just alpha but just thought I'd mention this.

Already removed it, I just have to add a few more features to the plugin (rate movies with 1-5 stars), AND get SMS rental working (it works, but it's not very user-friendly right now).

EDIT: The reason for the debugging was that the filters minprice/maxprice doesn't seem to work on all queries. Looks to me like a bug in the API. But I'll live with it
