Re: HeadWeb - online movie rental (nordic countries) Updated 10.11.2011

Hi again pilehave, I just tried the new version but there is no change for me.

I use the built-in graphics in an intel 2600K processor. Everything I have tried in on-line
videos play fine and I have also tried to use Lav video and audio decoders but it doesn't
seem to make any difference. Doesn't the following lines in the log that occur in conjunction
with trying to play the preview (1800kb/s selected) look suspicious?

It sure does. Two things we can do:
You can create the folder C:\Subs (Which HeadWeb will download the sub-file to)
Or, I can fix this by checking if the folder exists (by reading some MP Config settings) ;)

I'll go over the code tonight or tomorrow and find a fix, but if you are dying to check if this was the root of the problem, then try and create the dir!

    :sorry:

    Thanks, that did the trick!
The preview now plays and subtitles (danska, finska, norska, svenska) are downloaded to the Subs directory!
Only thing missing is that I don't seem to be able to display the subtitles although the MPC-HC engine is used.

    Regards

I still need to write a small user-guide, but to enable subtitles you have to add the C:\Subs folder to the folders where MPC-HC picks up subtitles. Like this:

    subtitle_settings.jpg

    Then it should work!

Dang, I was looking for somewhere to configure the folder paths, can't understand how I could miss that box :)
    It sure works now!
    Cheers /P

New version 0.0.0.82 available, see first post. Also updated in repository.
This fixes a problem with the plugin hanging if subtitle-folder is missing. I also fixed a few other small problems.
Thanks Per, for the bugreport :)

Looks good and rental works. Good work. When browsing categories i only get about 3 pages of movies - and that only covers titles beginning with the letter 'a'. I see no option to go to further down the list.

    Kind regards.

Yeah. There's a challenge there. By default the HeadWeb API lists all movies alphabetically when browsing a genre. And the API has a default limit of the number of movies to fetch, so not all are listed.

I COULD set this limit to 9999. But then it would take like forever to fill the list, when browsing a genre. Covers are downloaded for each movie...

My plan is to extend the filtering system, because it is also possible to sort all movies in a genre by their rating, releasedate and so on.

I just don't want to make the GUI too clunky ;)

Added option to filter out adult (erotic) movies.
Added option to display originalname instead of translatedname (movie titles).

I still need to write a small user-guide, but to enable subtitles you have to add the C:\Subs folder to the folders where MPC-HC picks up subtitles. Like this:

Applications shoulnd't use the root folder as data path, not even for folders. Program Data folder is designed for application data storage.

MediaPortal already stores it's data under Prgram Data, so you could query that folder and create a sub folder under it.

You're right, I just didn't find a way to make the Program Data folder consistent in both XP, Vista and 7. MPC-HC needs to know which folder to look for subtitles in...

By default it is configure to look in .\ and .\Subtitles\ (which is the same folder as the video playing, or a sub-folder to that folder called "Subtitles").

If you know a way to configure the subtitle with a relative path that is the same in all languages and Windows-versions, I'll do that immediately.
