Recently, I had a problem with MP, running Monochrome skin and upgraded to RC3 + SVN. When starting MP, I don't get into the standard layout but always come in a screen that asks me te set alarms.

After the upgrade, I used the Aeon skin and all was working fine.

Today I upgraded to the new Monochrome version, and the problem came back and it is now also affecting my Aeon skin. See screenshot:

This is what it looks like using MONOCHROME:

Does anyone know where this could come from? I already cleaned the CACHE folder, tried swhitching skins and more... I am clueless now...

Thanks in advance for any help or clues guys.

I don't know the cause of this, but maybe you should post your log files for someone to look at.

Then try to disable the Alarm plugin and see if it still happens.

I can't seem to find a way to disable the Alarm plugin, it is not in my list of plugins at all (or am I overseeing something here). There are however 2 XML files in the skin folder that refer to myAlarm.

Make sure your MP Config is in EXPERT mode. Switch to it top right. Click on PLUGINS again.

    Oh, stupid me ;-)

Actually I just installed the latest SVN again (which is what I had) and checked the box to show EXPERT mode when it finished. Still the same, even if I disable the Alarm plugin. In fact, when it was enabled now and when using the AEON skin, MP started with the skinned page for myAlarm. So, the problem is that it does not start with the standard home screen (unless I use basic home) but with the Alarm config screen. Do you happen to know Rekenaar what determines the screen with which the system starts?

Thanks so far for your responses.

Here is the only content I have in my error.log file:

    2008-11-25 18:15:19.787737 [ERROR][MPMain]: No translation found for id 105001
2008-11-25 18:15:19.802385 [ERROR][MPMain]: Exception: System.NullReferenceException: De objectverwijzing is niet op een exemplaar van een object ingesteld.
    bij MediaPortal.GUI.Alarm.GUIAlarmDetails.LoadSettings()
    bij MediaPortal.GUI.Alarm.GUIAlarmDetails.OnMessage(GUIMessage message)
    bij MediaPortal.GUI.Library.GUIWindowManager.ActivateWindow(Int32 newWindowId, Boolean replaceWindow)

Just removed the entire installation, I will start over fron scratch (yes, I made a backup!) and will report result here.

Re-installation solved the problem. I don't know what the cause was, but will keep an eye on it.

    Hi,

I had the same problem that the Alarm screen was shown instead of the home screen after MP 1.0 installation.

I think that I disabled the option on MP config that the last module is remembered and called again when MP is started (can't remember the exact option name). Afterwards, the home screen was called again at first. Then, I could reenable the option im MP config and everything worked as expected since then.

This may not be related to this particular issue, but I also have a lot of issues on Vista with user rights. Sometimes, settings are not stored in the MP directories, but in the related "compatibility directories" (VirtualStore...). The deinstallation routine of MP didn't clean these files, so I had to remove them manually to avoid strange side effects.

    Hope this helps somehow.
