Help configuration watching multiple tv channels (PIP) (2 Viewers)

Hi Guys,

Just got MediaPortal installed on my PC.

Currently, I have a quad tv tuner PCI-E card (Realtek). (www.digitalnow.com.au)

Now, I am interested to view four different tv channel at the same. How do I setup this. Do I need extra plugins on this.

Using DNTV Live software, I am able to open multiple DNTV Live software to make up 4 different tv channels. But, it has limitation on Windows profile. So, if I have to setup another guest user, I have to go again and scan tv profiles again.

I found MediaPortal works better in many regards. So, just don't know how to setup multiple TV channels. I tried to MediaPortal software and it only open MediaPortal one time.

Hi there,

Bad news..... Mediaportal 1 does not support PIP

Mediaportal 2 (which is in Alpha - hence is not really suitable for live use) does/will support PIP.

Thank you and I am using MP2.

How do I configure PIP in MP2. Still confuse using SlimTVClient.
Do you have any idea how to setup pip in mp2. Or perhaps, I have been looking creating a bat file where I can repeat to open few MediaPortal software more than one time.

Eg. Creating bat file to execute this command.
start /d "c:\Program Files\MediaPortal" MediaPortal.exe
start /d "c:\Program Files\MediaPortal" MediaPortal.exe
start /d "c:\Program Files\MediaPortal" MediaPortal.exe
start /d "c:\Program Files\MediaPortal" MediaPortal.exe

Not sure if this will work. But, I tried and it did not work. Only open one MedaPortal software.

Or if there is any particular / similar software that can do PIP. I need to be able to watch 4 channels in same windows.

It is not possible to open multiple instances of MediaPortal like that.

So, MP1 or MP2 will not work for watching multiple channels at the same time.

On one PC:
MP2 yes.
MP1 no.

With MP2, you don't do it by opening multiple windows.

While you are whatching a channel, hit "Enter" (keyboard) or "Ok" (remote), this opens the TV Miniguide showing you the channels. In this dialog there is a "PiP" button on top right. When enabled, you control the 2nd player...

So, in this case, I can just download the mp2 summer release which allow me to watch multi channels at the same time.

How many channel can I watch if I have a quad tv tuner. Can I watch 4 channels at the same time and reposition each window channel.

I am giving a try on MP2 summer release.

Hi There,

I am still no luck with Pip. I have installed latest MP 2 1.30 version. If I am not wrong, this pip has been built into this version.

Please advise what to do.

I am installing this as a single seat user.
