Remote: That's my problem.

Hello to all!
First of all, MP is a great work, really!
Now I've purchased a MCE Remote for Windows XP MCE, but it doesn't work.
It works only the arrows (move up/down/left/right) and the START button on the remote switch MP between full-screen windowed. Of course I've set-up MP with Remote -> "Use Microsoft MCE remote or keyboard".
Now here all infos about the remote:

MCR Remote Control for Windows XP MCE
Manufacturer: WinStars (www.win-star.com)
Product Link: http://www.win-star.com/product/productshow.php?RootCAT=R07&CatID=116&ID=382
Additional infos:
MCE Remoter
WS-MCE01
Remote control SRC-0149 1PC
MCE receiver 1set

Help, please.
I've no idea how to map the buttons if it's necessary.

Be, thanks, Simon

At this point I'm not sure it's a full MCE supported product and I've no idea how map buttons.
I could do the work if I find how to do that.... In example, with Windows Media Player (11) the <next track> works, in MP not....
It drives me crazy :)

I got it to work (have to configure the display some other day, have read that it is a pain in the ...)

My problem was that i havent installed all the drivers. Found som mce remote drivers that came from the windows XP CD you had to install. You can extract them...(more info in the links)

I did it by input the following mce reciever to trigger the hole install. (i think there is different versions of mce-remotes out there)

Here is more info.

There is a thread about the Antec receiver (probably many). The problem is that it is NOT a standard MCE receiver as it only transmits keystrokes....

I understand that you can you use Soundgraphs IMON and patch it somehow but most of the info is for VFD not for LCD.

I found a thread named updated Imon LCD that should do the trick. I wrote a question there but no answer yet.

The main thing is fixed now and that is satisfying. Now I can pause my movies and stuff.

Im newbie to this so I haven't tried out to mapp keys yet, would be glad to help you out when I know how.

But your problem should be the mce-driver too because you dont have more keys than i had.

Is my receiver an ANTEC too???
I'm more confused then ever :)

Other thing I can add to my infos is under devices i cannot see any IR device.
It has installed different HID Devices (under Human Interface Device) and a Composite USB Device (under USB Controllers).

    Please help :)

If it is based on the original mce remote, you should have ehome transceiver listed in device manager, with xp pro and service pack 2 installed this should happen automatically.

    Let us know

No forget the antec display, for now i dont use it. I use plain regular MCE-remote with the reciever/transmitter that came with the package and that works nice - for me...

Under Device Manager I haven't nothng similar :(
    Device Manager:
    • USB CONTROLLER:
      [**]Composite USB Device
    • Human Interfaces Devices:
[**]Compatible HID Device (more than one)
    • Keyboards:
      [**]HID Keyboard
    • Mouse:
      [**]HID Mouse
I've italian OS (WinXP SP2), hope have translated right ;)
Plugging in the USB Receiver it has installed the drivers alone. I've installed the Microsoft Rollup 2 too.. :'(
opening a notepad I can "write" with the MCE Remoter (numbers, up, down, enter, mute....) and in Windows Media Player next track, previous track, pause, works...

As you can see from my description, it's exactly this:
    http://www.win-star.com/product/productshow.php?RootCAT=R07&CatID=116&ID=382
It means, it has it's own transmitter and receiver.

    Any ideas?
    :'( :'(

    THANK'S!
