Perhaps someone here can help me.

I use My Videos to browse 3 different folders. I like the folders to be displayed independently so I use the Shares view. I also like the display to be set to List.

In this view you get all the movies listed on the right and selecting one shows the cover art on the left, beneath the cover art it shows the info for the chosen file "name, size etc" this info is rather redundant in this mode however because all the same info is already displayed and highlighted on the right.

I would like to edit the XML to display the IMDB movie synopsis beneath the cover art instead (the same description it shows when selecting info for a file).

Can anyone point me in the right direction to do this?

youe are in shareview, you only have to go to Titel view. Then you have all imdb infos on the left side.

It isn't so much a skin issue. You can reset the <textXOff2> label to be off screen so the info isn't redundant.

Which xml to change depends on how you want it to look.

It would be so much easier if there were a "Switch View" catagory for "Location" as well. That would use the DB info as in TitleView. Then you could set your Share folder as an additional layer in the MyVideos 'Views" section of Config.

But MP doesn't have that feature.

I would like to make "Share" view look like "Title" view. The reason is that in title view it aggregates all my movies from all over and puts them in one list. In share view I can browse between folders. Or is there a way to make Title view keep the folders seperate and browse between them?

I want to be able to browse my shares in Title view and keep them seperated.

Perhaps there is a way to do this without modding the XML. I just thought it would be fairly easy to swap the title info in shareview for the description info.

Alas, Share view does not look at the DB, only the file system. As yet, MediaPortal cannot show the same details in Share view as in Title view.
