The only workaround is to use mouse, press twice the right botton and select "move to previous window". In this way I can see the movies list and the playing movie in a small square bottom left. Now, acting on the remote or keyboard, I'm able to control the movie. It seems like starting the internal player, MP "ignores" any commands.
