HELP!!!! IR will not blasty blasty (1 Viewer)

Hi Guys.
Hopefully someone can help me, just upgraded from mp 0.2.2 using myblaster to tv3 with client and server on same host but i cant get serverblaster or MCE TV3 MCE Blaster Plugin to blast, both seem to be learning ok but serverblaster will only blast intermitantly and tv3 mce blaster will not send any blast single at all, have tried multiple IR receivers and transmittors ( have two mce remotes) but not worky worky.

all help appreicated.

Are you using any other software that interacts with the MCE IR Device?

no just MP, have know had very limited success with server blaster, seems to be blasting but am only having about 20% pick on the STB, still no joy getting the replacement one to work.

you mention you've got client and server on the same PC, are you using the MCE remote to control MediaPortal?

That would interfere with blasting.

Which is why I'm working on IR Server Suite...

yeah using the MCE remote on the client\server machine, is that a no go?

something i did notice which seems ultra strange (not sure if related) is when my tv is on the MCE IR receiver is constantly receiving, turn my tv off and it goes away, have remove batteries from all devices but it seems to be coming from my tv not sure if that is even possible.

yeah, that is possible. the tv is creating infrared light that is interfering with the receiver. What sort of TV is it? Plasma?

The TV Server plugin is using the device and the MediaPortal client is also trying to use the device, but the device can only be used by one program/plugin at a time...

Maybe try IR Server Suite.

ok so i seem to be getting somewhere, installed suite and mce replacement driver so blasting is working great but now no mce remote or keyboard function, have tried a bunch of combos but not sure on the exact configuration as far as server, MP config, any hints?

Plasma TV's are notorious for IR interference.

If you use IR Server Suite then you just use the plugins and apps that come with it...

MP Control to ... umm, ... control MP....

TV3 Blaster to , well you get the picture.

If you want to control other applications then you use Translator... I might have to change that to "Application Controller" or something ...

Make sure you've got the latest public test version of IR server suite, it now has support for the MCE Keyboard.

All I can do is direct you to the documentation that comes with the IR Server Suite. It would take too long to go into everything here, but if you go over the docs and have any more questions feel free to post or send me a private message.
