Remote: Logitech S510 Media Remote

So here is the issue that has been bugging me for a long time now:

Logitech SetPoint software doesn't work with MediaPortal (S510 Media Remote + Media Keyboard Elite). I'm able to use media buttons when I close the setpoint software, but when it's running, it doesn't matter what I map with uberoptions, media- or remote buttons won't work even if they are mapped to normal keys.

I think that this issue is related to SetPoint's players.ini -file. Bold parts are the parts that I tried to add ... :

... but it still won't work.

I think that I have to add some information to these parts in players.ini about MediaPortal: wndClass, wndCaption so please reply if you have a solution or any hints what to add !!!

hate to suggest this, but I do not think the remote is compatible with MP, or any other software that SetPointe doesn't specifically states.

But it looks like its asking for the hex codes for the commands. Since this is a limited remote, I'm not sure what you can do. You could try using the built in remotes in MP, see if any of them work. Or you could try to get it working through IR Suite.

Sorry I could not be more of help. Good luck.

This is what I found about this issue: Hydrogenaudio Forums > Logitech MediaPlay mouse and foobar2000

So setpoint is configurable for foobar2000 and some version of mediaportal, as described, but the above configuration doesn't work for current mediaportal release, so I was thinking that maeby it's because of those winxxx -settings.

But thanks for your reply! and I will test those options that you mentioned, but I think that only way to make this work is modify players.ini to accept mediaportal.

Nothing, I think that last chance to get this working is to modify players.ini -file or my two Logitech media-keyboards and remote turn obsolete.

I tried also logitech's support forum but nobody has replied. Is there anyone else who is using MediaPortal with S510 or some other Logitech hardware with SetPoint having this same problem?

Thanks for your reply, and yes I have tried all possible remote-options available, including HID and also reconfiguring keys and so on.

Issue is, that Logitech's SetPoint disables (or something) S510 remote and media-keys when mediaportal is started (even in the configuration) because MediaPortal isn't listed in players.ini -file. When SetPoint is closed then those media-keys work, but of course other buttons won't because they are configured in SetPoint.

I found this thread
It worked perfectly for my diNovo Mini which has the media keys.

Edit: Sorry just noticed first post mentioned UberOptions. Hopefully this can help others looking for Media keys + Setpoint
