I started a new thread to locate my video path. When I select videos on the main screen it takes me to my music, not my videos, the path says music shares, not video shares.
I understand that, but starting a new thread like you've done is not going to get you help unless you follow our support forum rules. The rules are there so that we don't waste time having to ask everyone for the information that we need. What I'm trying to say is that we want to help, and if we could tell what was wrong from your description of the problem then it would already be solved by now. This is why we require certain information when you start a support thread - logs and system specifications (either fill out the template or fill in the information in your profile and make it visible). You didn't provide either of those in the other thread.

If you did a quick search of the forum you'd see -->this<-- thread from roughly two weeks ago. Try replacing your MediaPortal configuration file (in C:\ProgramData\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal - that is a hidden folder, so paste the path into the address bar of Windows explorer or enable viewing of hidden and system files and folders) with the attached one.

you hade mentioed a refresh rate, i will go back and look at that, but i am not sure on where i am to correct this. is it with my video card.

attached is a new log of a movie playing with evr.

    Hi again

first off i would like to appologize, i am new and trying hard to make this system work.
No need to apologise - I understand that you're new and I didn't mean to come across so grumpy. :sorry:

vmr9 my movies work and tv doesnt, evr tv works and movies have the choppy playback.
This is precisely what makes me think that frame/refresh rate issues are involved.

My opinion is that EVR works with the TV content because the 29.97 fps frame rate is a close multiple of the display refresh rate (60 Hz) and it doesn't work with the movies because the 23.976 frame rate is not even close to a multiple of 60 Hz. As a result, what you see on the screen is the choppy playback. In the logs what I see is constant media type changes between 59.94 fps and 47.952 fps (which are double 29.97 and 23.976 - the Microsoft codec and/or renderer don't like this. When I mentioned this issue to Owlsroost and Tourettes who are two of our most experienced developers in this area they said also to check whether the hardware is not keeping up, which is why I asked about your CPU and GPU.

you hade mentioed a refresh rate, i will go back and look at that, but i am not sure on where i am to correct this. is it with my video card.
Please do try enabling the refresh rate changer. It is in MediaPortal configuration in the "Dynamic Refresh Rate" subsection of the "General" section (as per the tree on the left hand side of the wiki) - just tick "enable dynamic refresh rate control" and see how you go from there.

What I can't explain is the behaviour of VMR 9. However, I still stand by my recommendation to stick with EVR...

Tried, and same results, it changes the size of my screen, desktop.

    Will keep researching and playing.

    CPU is only 19-28%.

Tried arcsoft, Microsoft, ffdshow, dynamic refresh rate with all.

Using lav as the video codec and it is working.

    Thanks.

So probably your screen doesn't support those refresh rates.

    CPU is only 19-28%.
That is only half the story - it tells us that the GPU is being used to decode, so we need to know if the GPU is coping.

Using lav as the video codec and it is working.
    Okay. :)

    hey guys,

I came back to mp, and for the most part enjoying the experience.

    I have a couple issues.

When I click on manual control in the tv server settings it doesnt open and I cannot access to restart tv service.

I am using schedulers direct and it seems i always have to force the guide update, hence the issue above. Right now most channels are showing no data, and after a force still nothing, but has been owrking the last few days, i have it set to max 13 days. how often does this update on its own?

i want my channels in the guide to be in numerical order, right no they are scattered. how d i do thi?

    thanks for the help.
