Well no, we are back to you entering data into the db itself, which as I said makes no promises to keep anything sticky.
You can enter metadata via the config, this way is supported and it should stick (you'll notice it puts those manually entered things into different columns). For graphics....well there is no support for this in the config (last I checked), so one unsupported way to try (I have no idea if htis will work even though I wrote the code to make user edits stick) is to manually create a column with the same naming format as the other ones created by the config, and try to put things there.
If that doesn't work, I'm afraid your out of luck.
