I don't know if you read the posts in those links but it seems to be a problem with the driver and if you google on it, there are quite a lot of people affected by this. Like I wrote, I have seen this a few months ago on a brandnew Asus laptop and of course, it's very annoying.
Therefore, I don't think that PD's solution will bring any change - curious about that.

What are the actual dates of those drivers? (not the date of the creation of the package)
If you cannot solve it with that particular network card, just keep an eye on the development of the driver because I guess sooner or later, they will fix this.

In the meantime, you could 'solve' it by using another lan adapter.

yes, yes I've read the threads....but no solution. will se what'll happen with the "native" W7 driver.
the latest driver I've found is from July 22nd 2010...but it cures nothing.
another lan adapter is then what I have to build in....

    I gave up....
The native driver shows the same behaviour. After coming back from standby the computer tries to verify a network connection continously. It seems the routine is caught in an endless loopback.

I'll go and buy a discrete NIC now.
