Hmm, this might be the problem. In the Emma Kirkby case, I've tagged the artist field of the individual tracks with the composer name, which is different than the albumartist field which is "Emma Kirkby".

We do have a composer tag you know

When actually displaying the thumbs we look for them in the artist thumb folder (based on database view level) and this goes goes for album artist, artist, composer and conductor.

The option to add missing artist thumbs however actually only creates thumbs for artists (and the composer you have tagged does not appear in any artist tag so no thumb was created so nothing gets found)
