Hi Guy's, trying to get terrestrial in my area (Wairarapa New zealand), its a new service bout 2months old, but my scan won't pick up channels. cards are set up as hybrid so Satalite won't interfer, I think the site is POPOITI broadcasting on 570Mhz, 586Mhz & 602Mhz with band width 8Mhz, evertime it hits one of these frequencies it shows full signal strenght but nothing found then it stops searching & won't continue with out killing TV server config & restarting PC. does anyone know of a duplicate country or site using same settings for VID etc to scan channels in correctly? Signal is good as i have DishTV 1020 box working great from same source.

    Thanks in advance :D

Hi, I have activated watchdog but I don't think the server is crashing just hanging on scan mode, once it hits frequency where signal is, it jumps to next transponder & hangs there, I left if for over 4 hours & it didn't move so I just "OKD" server it would then close & would not reopen again until I did a reboot, also couldn't see it running in task manager either. I have attach a log from debug mode if that's any help, also a very poor jpg of where it hangs.

    cheers

This is *exactly* what I needed - please remember to post logs in future. :)

    Okay, a two things:
    1. Use "stop card" instead of "pause card" for your DVB-T tuners that are not behaving correctly. Some tuners simply don't work with pause. To do this, edit the tuner settings as per our wiki -->here<-- and set the "when card enters idle state..." value appropriately. You may need to do this for your other tuners too; maybe only for the HVR-4000 tuners... trial and error.
PS: I note you're using MP 1.2.0rc. Did you upgrade from alpha or beta?

    2. If stop mode doesn't work then try using the "DVBT" network provider instead of the "generic" one. The setting is in the same place under "preferred network provider".

One of those changes will almost certainly fix the problem.

    :)

PS: I don't think your HVR 4400 needs to be set up as hybrid for the DVB-S/2 tuner. The DVB-S/2 and DVB-T/analog tuners on the 4400 are independent - that is part of what makes it an upgrade over the 4000.

Hi MM, thanks 4 that unfortunately nothing seem to work still. I tried the stop option first then the DVBT option, then I tried it on all cards across the board, then I disabled all cards except DVT & that still didn't make any difference. The Previous ver was 1.2.0 beta & previous was 1.1.2 which i was having constant tvserver failing to start, but on 1.2.0 beta fixed that. I'm thinking maybe time for fresh install of MP when next release comes out. I have attached log with all cards except DVT disabled that I tried. What about the scan settings where 0 bandwidth is indicated, I notice on other countries this figure varies like 125,am I missing this figure on this new DVT site Popoiti maybe there is a requirement here for it? I heard somewhere this site copies another countries settings but could not remember which 1 possibly Ireland (tried it but no).

    thanks again

    Hi again gigabyter64

Something funky is going on there. I can actually see that the channels are found in the TsWriter log. I suspect that your upgrade from 1.2.0b didn't happen cleanly. Can you tell me what version of TVLibrary you're running - just find it in C:\Program Files x86\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal TV Server (or wherever you installed TV Server to), right click, properties, version tab. I suspect it is the 1.2.0b one (1.1.7). If I'm right then I'd recommend an uninstall and reinstall (you can keep the database).

Hi again, sorry 1 last question, I have turned off windows updates which did seem to cause issues for me, so since im going to do fresh install of MP do you think i should update at least to SP1 or go with updates on? I use Gigabytes express recovery to keep good system image available if all turns to custard, just wondered what your opinion on this would be.

    cheers

Upgrade to SP 1 without doubt. I think you'd find you can't install MP without it. Could be wrong, but even so, I'd upgrade. :)

Hi mm1352000, thanks for all that, I have upgraded my win updates are all in, I decided to uninstall MP & do reinstall, all working great now, but I have 1 more question re NZ epg on terrestrial, mine wont update more than an hour or two ahead of whats on. The Sat epg working great all through to 7 days. I have set up with folders for Sat & Terrestrial. Every change I'ved tried seems to make no diff like stopping cards, changing from generic to dvbt, changing times on idle timeout etc, all I get is a dot in the epg boxes as if something should be there. I also tried WEBepg but made not a great deal of difference either, do you have any ideas?

    cheers
