Thanks fforde, that's very clear now. I guess I should bring this to the attention of the MP developers, but I don't like my chances now that 1.0 is about to be released.
I will see if I can find another way to select the last selected series when exiting and re-entering the filmstrip facade. I can think of hack by using OnAction.ACTION_MOVE_RIGHT and ACTION_PAGE_UP to minimize the trip for large SelectedIndexes.
