Sorrt but I have to return to this matter,

Can someone please tell how to update ptgate scraper ??

Basically I would like to get synopsis in portuguese of the movies.

Actually I don't get any , and sometimes i get them in English fro IMDB.

Is there anything I can do to make ptgate scraper grab the synopsis in Portuguese ??

Thanks in advance.

Can someone please tell how to update ptgate scraper ??

You can find current version of the scraper script at:

    Scraper script reference at:

And when you are done, post your new scraper at:

    http://code.google.com/p/moving-pictures/issues/entry
(use the drop down box to adjust template to 'Patch/Scraper/Translation Submission')

Posting on the forum will *NOT* guarantee that it will end up inside a new release of MovingPictures, as all the development takes place at the Google Code site.

On another note, I've added Portugese support into the IMDb+ scraper. It only works on Summary, Language, Genres and Certification for now, but I plan to expand this later.

The Portugese source that I use is imdb.pt because I needed a guaranteed movie match based on the IMDb tt-ID value and unfortunatly cinema.ptgate.pt does not support this type of lookup.

    I could use a Portugese tester :D

    Hi RoChess:

If IMDb+ gives actually the summary that's good for me.

I will give it a try.I have to follow instruction here : https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/...raper-movie-scraping-steroids-v3-3-0-a-98978/

    Right ??

    Correct.

I just released v3.3.0 yesterday with the multi-language support, and as usual the documentation part takes me a little longer to do. By default the IMDb+ scraper will install with 'English' settings. You can of course edit this inside the scraper script before you import, but a much easier way would be to use the IMDb+ plugin to adjust all the options to your liking.

The IMDb+ plugin does require that you upgrade to MediaPortal v1.2.x, but that is actually a pretty smooth upgrade process if you are still on v1.1.x, as almost all popular plugins can be updated via the MPEI extension installer.

You can also manually edit the "C:\Options IMDb+ Scraper.xml" file to change the options, but the plugin makes this a lot easier, as it offers detailed descriptions on what each option does.

If anything is unclear, please let me know, so I can adjust the instructions to explain it better.

Ok I was just about to ask that because I had already installed IMDb+ vers. 3.2.5 which I think works only for english language.

So the multi-language is ready to use ??

where is it ?? same place ??

I'm getting confused with this instructions:

Use the "Rename dBase IMDb+ Scraper (Custom).xml" file for any custom entries that will survive an update to the default list.

Any options adjusted in the "Options IMDb+ Scraper.xml" file will be accepted immediatly by the scraper for new imports and refreshes on existing ones.

On MP config. I select moving pictures - data sources -manually manage.

Then I add imdb+ scraper (custom).xml but it crashes !!! do I have to change anything inside (custom) ???

sorry I'm not very skilled on this.

Ok I was just about to ask that because I had already installed IMDb+ vers. 3.2.5 which I think works only for english language.

This is what the update does, the new v3.3.0 adds the multi-language (as in Portugese) support

So the multi-language is ready to use ??

    Yes :D

where is it ?? same place ??

Yes, I've moved everything over to Google Code.

Direct download link of new scraper script = http://imdbplus.googlecode.com/files/imdbplus.scraper.3.3.0.zip

And use the same method you used to install v3.2.5

I'm getting confused with this instructions: Use the "Rename dBase IMDb+ Scraper (Custom).xml" file for any custom entries that will survive an update to the default list.

The "C:\Rename dBase IMDb+ Scraper.xml" file contains a bunch of movie series that will rename their title to "group" them together, this way "Casino Royale" will be sorted along with all the other James Bond movies and not all over your collection. If however you wish to add your own title rename entries, those should go into that "custom" file, so that when I release a new version of the default one, your 'custom' changes are not lost.

Any options adjusted in the "Options IMDb+ Scraper.xml" file will be accepted immediatly by the scraper for new imports and refreshes on existing ones.

All the other scrapers if you make an adjustment to the way it works, you have to edit the scraper XML file, open MovPic config and re-import it. With my scraper you edit that options XML file and the new options immediatly take effect on the next movie you import (or refresh of existing one). This allows you to refresh the movie details on a movie, open IMDb+ plugin and change options, and then refresh movie details again to see the new option results. And you can now do all this without leaving the MediaPortal GUI.

The only benefit to using MovPic config is when you want to like mass-update your entire collection (got plans to add an option inside plugin for this as well)

On MP config. I select moving pictures - data sources -manually manage.

Then I add imdb+ scraper (custom).xml but it crashes !!! do I have to change anything inside (custom) ???

sorry I'm not very skilled on this.

You *ONLY* add the "IMDb+ v3.3.0.xml" to MovPic config, the other three XML files are meant to compliment the scrapers functions, and need to be in "C:\" for the time being (working on that as well).

I presume that I have to use "manually manage..." on "data sources" and select "IMDb+" as first option on top of the list ??

EDIT: Sorry is not working - all summaries are in english or no summary at all.

Yes, you should have IMDb+ v3.3.0 at the top.

Then go into MediaPortal GUI -> Settings/Plugins -> IMDb+ -> scroll down to the bottom and find the setting to adjust default 'English' into 'Portugese'.

And if you look at the imdb.pt website you will find that not every movie has been provided yet with a Portugese translation. This is why I added the additional option to fallback to English summary from imdb.com if none exists on the foreign-language website.

Go over all the other IMDb+ plugin options as well, and the moment you escape back to the main menu, your settings will be saved. Then go back to MovPic and refresh a movie, or close MediaPortal and use MovPic config to mass-refresh your entire collection. Remember that is you added movies with another scraper besides IMDb+, that you have to do additional steps as explained in the first forum post for the IMDb+ scraper (look for the 'collapse' option for existing collection).

Sorry I don't understand this step:

"Then go into MediaPortal GUI -> Settings/Plugins -> IMDb+ -> scroll down to the bottom and find the setting to adjust default 'English' into 'Portugese'."

is it inside media portal config ?? or do I have to start MP ??

Actually I just realized a flaw in my logic, because you most likely already have import paths configured, so launching MediaPortal will also initialize MovingPictures and it will start to import movies before you can adjust the IMDb+ scraper options.

I'll be glad when the new plugin is done to do all this automatic :D

For your case, you'll have to do it manually via notepad. Open the "C:\Options IMDb+ Scraper.xml" file in notepad, and change the "01" into "06" so it looks like:

    <set name="global_options_secondary_details" value="06" />

If you prefer English summary instead of nothing when one doesn't exist at imdb.pt, then also change "false" into "true" for the following result:

    <set name="global_options_secondary_summary" value="true" />

You can even get partial support for Portugese titles by adjusting the following setting from "false" into "true" as well:

    <set name="global_options_original_title" value="true" />

Once done, close notepad and 'save' the file. And then you can start the import after you verified IMDb+ scraper is indeed installed as v3.3.0 and in first position.

I hope it is all clear for you now, and I'll definatly use your confusion to improve on the install instructions.
