I have had the same problem with an Asus p4p800 mobo. I saw some info on this board that newer MP versions was causing the problem, but I never found a proper cure. I remember reading those same microsoft kb`s and the usbbioshack thing.

But just to clarify:
I want to run S3/suspend. Does your added mode allow me to do this (without the computer instantly waking up again)?

best regards
Knut

No. As I said, the problem is caused by a buggy implementation of S3 suspend mode in various Asus motherboards. This means that if you instruct the computer to use S3 suspend mode (by enabling the registry hack), it will no longer be able to hibernate.

BTW, this does not mean you can't use suspend anymore. Suspend will still work, but it will use the S1 mode (which is the XP default setting) that consumes more energy...

Ok I wil have to do another evening of testing then.

When I tried the last time, I found many "cures", but no matter what, my PC immidiately booted after an S3/suspend. Now S3 and cold off is all that I need, so Ill try.

    Hi JoeDalton,

    Just a quick observation...

The S3 trick causes my PC to hang when going into Standby. I have to remove the new S3 tick for all to work well.
I now find that every time I open up MP config, the check has re-activated itself again. I don't suppose there is a way for this to remember the last setting?

    Thanks,

    Marcus.
