First thing, try using powerscheduler to put PC into hibernate, ie go to setup/plugins powerscheduler and enable, advise use the tick option to restart TVcards.

then just leave MP in homescreen for the set time allocated with nothing running TV\Video etc and see if it powers down ok.

after a few minutes try waking up pc and see if ok.

if not give up as i and a few others have and use PVRScheduler to run MP.

by the way this is usually associated with USB TVcards, there does not seem to be a problem with PCI cards.

the problem is when i leave the computer hibernating more than 30 minutes...if a put in hibernation and turn on again, everthing seem to work fine...but the problems begin when it's hibernating for a while, then i wake it up and crash in the videos...

right now i'm testing if sleeping produces the same results than hibernating....if so, i will try the powerscheduler plugin...

    Thanks

then i wake it up and crash in the videos.

Can you just confirm no tvcard installed.

Also can you list USB devices that may be plugged in, because it sounds like something powering down (ie driver) after a period of time in hibernate.

Does your motherboard support +5V standby and is it enabled.

If you can answer above would be a help.

PVRScheduler is more TV orientated, but it does do a lot of other things besides.

    i have no tv-card installed.

    USB devices installed: none;

Does your motherboard support +5V standby and is it enabled.

honestly, don't know...when sleeping and hibernating it shutdown everthing, including fans...

Other thing....i try to download PVRScheduler, but it saids that i have to donate for the latest version, but not for the old ones...but the old ones that i can download, they are very old !!!!

This is what i do when the machine just hangs up:

    - Power On
    - MP starts
    - i watch a couple of movies, play some music
    - I leave it in home so this way it hibernates itselfs
    - Hibernating
    - (i leave it an hour in hibernating mode)
    - Wakes Up
    - Go to My videos
    - Try to play a movie
    - Hangs up
    - Reboot

    Hope this can help...

    Thanks

And after Hibernation, you close MediaPortal and then restart a minute later, everything works/plays fine.

If it is this is something that is cropping up all the time, its called blackscreen, so if you search on that keyword, you will find lots of posts, maybe one will help you.
that is a similar problem to mine, but is caused by my usb part of the Dvico dual DVB-T card.
Hence that is where PVRScheduler (costs 5 euros well worth the donation) wins as it restarts MP after coming out of standby.

well....it just do the same fu****ng thing....i'm just tired of it, sory....

i'll try to format and start all over again and see what happens...

it could be a problem of the mainboard ? i think it could be a problem of the hard disk, because it's old....

    let's see...

    Thanks

how about trying different combinations of the options in PowerScheduler? There are things like "Force Shutdown" and the like.
Since all that seems to be working ok and it's only after a resume I doubt this will make any difference, but it can't hurt to experiment. Just remember th initial setting.
Also, how about Standby rather than Hibernate. It uses a little more power, but hey, if it works then go for it...

Make sure the "Reinit TV cards on resume" is not selected. Don't know what would happen there if you have no cards and that option ticked.

Also, check out the log files. Maybe something there of use.
