High CPU usage (1 Viewer)

Hi! I recently updated to a SVN version of TV Series (to use properly with the skin Monochrome), and now MediaPortal is using all the CPU on one of my cores if MP TV Series is enabled. Unfortunately I'm not at home at the moment so I don't know exactly which revision I was using, but I've also seen another user mention the exact same issue, anyone know how to rectify this? Haven't anyone else noticed it?

I noticed because some of my movies/series started "lagging" a bit

AMD BE-2350. The high CPU usage is there even when MP is just idling, so to speak.

Hav you tried the AMD Dual-Core Optimizer?

I can give it a try but I don't think this issue is related to that at all. MP TV Series worked just fine in the past, it's when I upgraded that it started using all available CPU. This is when I'm not doing anything, not watching any video, not even being in the TV Series section. Just launching MP is enough for the CPU usage to skyrocket. If MP TV Series is enabled, otherwise MP uses very little (a few percent) CPU.

If you run run mp-tvseries config and start a manual local update is there a high cpu load as well?
If not you could try the default skin and also check the log files of mediaportal to see if anything pops up(errors etc..)

Running the latest svn myself en during startup it is a little slugish because of the IO/HD load but this usually stops after a minute or two(core2 duo 6600 and raid0 hd array - 160mb/s)

Finally, an update
It would seem it was an issue only when using the SVN of MP that I was using (couldn't even bring up the mp-tv series config, it just used all CPU and stopped responding). Will try with a newer SVN soon. Works with the stable 0.2.3 though.

Got the same issue with MP rev 17839 and couldn't even enter TV Series within MP (used up almost both my cores)

I get the same high cpu usage with plain 0.2.3 and non-svn of tv series both with monochrome and blue two

Hm, when having a clean TV Series database I don't seem to have these issues.

I guess I will have a go at building it from scratch again instead of relying on the backup.

Update again:
Rebuilt database from scratch and so far so good, using latest "not new API" SVN of TV Series (but not of MP atm)
