I'm a new user of MP, so please be gentle.
I intend to use it mainly to view my home videos which I have downloaded to my PC in DV AVI format. I can view them via MP but because there is no menu/chapter structure they are not very usable.
I have tried DivX Author. This creates very nice menus which work fine on their own. However when I try to view the video via MP I can see the menu, but cannot then select any item from the menu so the video is unplayable. Also, the quality of the output of this process was not very good compared to the original AVI footage.
Can anyone suggest a way of allowing me to have a menu for each of my home videos which I can use to navigate through the video when viewing it via MP? Please note that ideally I want to avoid any compression of the video that causes noticeable loss of quality on a 50" screen.
