How are you handling DVD series without seasons? (1 Viewer)

Like for "Beavis and Butt-Head: The Mike Judge Collection". Obviously I don't want these episodes to be broken up into season order, but rather as DVD order as they were released. I can import them individually (painful) into the database, but TVSeries breaks them up by season.

An automatic import seems to not be possible since there is no season number, and in this case there shouldn't be.

maybe you can add it as a new series on thetvdb.com, I would suggest that you ask on thetvdb.com forum, if you have all episodes in the same season the season is never shown in mp

Sure, but these episodes are not organized by season. In fact, lots of things aren't. The suggestion to add a certain DVD to an online database for an app that has it's own database makes no sense. Why can't I just edit the data on the local PC to reflect what I want? Why does it have to be organized by season and appear in the thetvdb.com database? Isn't that why there is a manual episode importer in the first place? Why can't I just edit the DB3 file and change all of the seasons to "0", or for that matter just edit the season numbers to all be the same from within the plugin? That way at least it would look correct and not be broken up incorrectly into seasons. Unfortunately, the plugin interface has no allowance for this, and will not let you edit the season number - even if you manually imported the episode. There should be an override for this.

I would just import them manually, then just edit the DB, but the plugin deletes any manual imports as soon as the are watched (bug repeatedly reported by others). It seems that this plugin is useless for manual imports. I'm not sure why the option is even there.

These episodes all appear in thetvdb.com. It has everything I need and the plugin will import them. It just keeps insisting that I have three espisodes from season 3, six episodes from season 1, and so on. It then displays them that way. If they were all "season 0" (or the same number at all), it would just show them in a list.

I don't even mind importing them one by one, but why can I not tell the plugin to not separate this particular group into "seasons". I cannot be the only one who has encountered this problem.

No need to bite my head off, I'm not the developer of this application, I was only trying to help.
My-Tvseries always looks up the episodes on thetvdb, even when you do a manual import. Basically, if it's not on thetvdb, it doesn't exist.

Yeah, the episodes are all on thetvdb.com.

The only need is a flexible file import manager and a flexible series/episodes handler in mp tv series.

I suggest posting a feature enhancement at google code for mp tv series. My Impression is that the need for a nice & easy editable import of files is lower as one might expect, so the developers concentrate on different subjects.

Hope you find a lot of signers for your request.

Regards, Chuckyy
