The MP starts randomly position in windowed mode. How can I force the MP save the last used window position on the desktop?

I don't think you can do that, since such functionality must be provided by the application (to remember the window position)

Maybe ask for it nicely in the feature requests, i don't think it's very difficult to implement, just save the x,y position on exit on an .ini file and read it back on startup...

I think you can use nView for such. (Part of your nVidia drivers.) You can set some application specific things there... Might be worth a look.
