How can I get an itunes playlist into mediaportal? (1 Viewer)

Hello everyone,

So I currently have my itunes library on one computer where the files live and any playlist that I generate lives. I can export the playlist as an .m3U file, however it lists the files using the absolute path. When I open the playlist on another computer (where my media portal is running) it cannot find the songs even though I could play the song if I were to go directly through media portal and find it.

Hope this makes sense.

Is there a way to fix this so it will play the songs when I create a playlist using itunes? Maybe some sort of plug in?

Hi Steve

No plugins that I know of, however m3u files can be edited in any text editor. You should be able to use the find/replace function which is available in even the simplest editors like notepad to fix all the paths in a few seconds.
