How can I prevent automatic recording of TV Shows (1 Viewer)

My Media Portal sometimes chooses to record random tv shows and records a whole lot of them (10 to 20). I am not sure, but I think it might be a feature.

If so, is there any way to disable it?
If it is not a feature then is there a fix?

I think there are some issues with the database.... For instance I almost always get asked if I want to continue watching a recorded TV show from xx.xx while it is the first time I started it up.

As the new TV engine will be practically 100% new I dont think they'll be working on this anymore.
