Hi,

I've messed up a bit

I've emptied the database and it deleted all the series and episodes showed in details tab, but i cannot rebuild the database. Everything seems ok, parsing and other things, but nothing is created in "Details" tab.

When i looked the log, it says;
...

Now i want to re-install the Tv Series plugin, but i can't. I deleted db, tvseries.dll, medianfo.dll and restart MP, then i install TvSeries again, but no luck. Same things happens.

I appreciate any help.

How can i completely uninstall TvSeries and re-install it again?

c'mon

C'mon guys, it shouldn't be so hard

Just want to know how to -completely- unistall TvSeries from MP. Just instructions like " delete this, delete that " would be sufficient.

If you deleted all the correct dll's from their locations, thenreload the config, make sure it isn't listed, that is your first check.

Once you can confirm that (and that you dumped the DB, i.e. you deleted it and any backups in similar folders). Then copy the dll back in and it should work fine.

I know however that it will work merely by deleting the DB, as when testing builds I only want a DB with 2-3 series matching certain criteria, which makes it quicker, so just moving the DB out usually solves the problem of a clean slate.

    Your DB is here: C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal\Database\TVSeriesDatabase4.db3
So delete this and the others mentioned above, then copy (newest) DLL (+ language folder) and you should have a fresh start.

PS: You can always find userfiles via config (top left) or Start -->--> MediaPortal --> User Files

You say it doesn't detect them anymore. May I ask, have you actually put the path back into the config option for it to look for the series again? If not then that is why, as those details are stored in the DB.

    Hi,

Yes, i've added the paths. My problem still exists. According to log, all the series are identified and present. But i cannot see any of the series in "Details" tab, and in MP - TV Series section.

I'm not a newbie in using computer. But i must be doing something wrong, but i cannot see what. Maybe a simple option, but i cannot find it. I know, i mean it should, delete all series data when i delete the db file, or use the "Empty" option - and it did actually. All the series are deleted in the "Details" tab. But i cannot see why it doesn't create them any more :(

Actually it all started as i wanted to update the series info in MP. I've downloaded an episode of an already recorded serie and put the video file to its directory, but i couldnt see it in MP. Then i tried an option (unfortunately i dont remember which option i selected - but not delete or something like that), and all that series info is disappeared in MP - TVSeries. I've tried to update the serie from configuration but no luck. Then i realized that the same thing is happening on other series. So, i decided to empty the database, and create it again. But i cannot create any of the series hereafter. :(

I've tried to clean all data of TVSeries, and try to install it again, but same things happen when i install it again, obviously i'm missing something.

I appreciate any help, because maybe the best thing in MP was this TVSeries extension for me.

    Edit;
I've decided to uninstall MP and install the latest SVN, maybe it'll be much easier than finding the error. I'll post the results.

I wasn't trying to accuse you of being a "newbie" and be condescending in anyway. I was merely trying to make sure all steps had been covered, as it is quite often something as simple as missing a check box that causes things like this to happen.

So steps I think you should now follow:

    1. Remove MP-TVSeries.dll from the plugins folder in mediaportal
    2. Delete the DB from the folder (%appdata%\Team Mediaportal\Mediaportal\databases in XP (I think) and %programdata%\Team Mediaportal\Mediaportal\databases (again I just think this is the correct path, it should be but I may have typo'd) in Vista)
    3. Delete the thumbs folder (same starting path, I think it just comes under cache then thumbs, its obvious though)
    4. Copy a new version of MP-TVSeries.dll into the mediaportal plugins (windows) folder
    5. Open mediaportal configuration
    6. Add all the paths you have
    7. Start the import and wait for it to finish before you look at the details tab - it doesn't update there until all done.
    8. Open mediaportal and open to TVSeries
    9. Make sure you have the view "all" selected and you should be able to see them now.

Make sure you don't manually create the database, just let TVseries do that itself.

Once that is done, if you still aren't getting it to find the files we'll definitely need a copy of your logs - in debug mode, not just normal mode.

I didn't understand the words you've said as this either, no offense :sorry:

I think the main problem is, my TVSeries reads the episodes, but don't create the "Series" info somehow (maybe it finds that it's already defined somewhere)
