(How) Can you install tv-server after initial installation (1 Viewer)

Hi guys, I'm trying to install tv-server after I've installed the normal client. In the mean time I've bought a tv card, so I'd like to use it. Is this possible without any loss of settings, or should I just perform a clean install?

Try doing a full install - I *think* MP should be detected and then left alone. TV Server and the TV plugin should be installed. You might want to take a backup of your MP settings before you do it though. I'd recommend either the BackupSettings plugin or just taking a copy of your entire user directory (XP = C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Team MediaPortal, Vista/7 = C:\ProgramData\Team MediaPortal - they are both hidden folders, so Google if you don't know how to access them).

Thanks for your comment. What I did so far:

1.2beta was installed, so I ran the deploytool to install 1.2RC
this left me with two options; clean install and upgrade existing installation. I chose the latter.

As far as I know, there was no option to install tv-server.

When I run the deploytool now, I can only select "Clean install", "upgrade exisiting installation" is greyed-out.

Judging by the (lack of) solutions it seems there is no way to install tv-server afterwards?

Hi.
You can start deploy tool and cancel installation at a time. Then have a look at Temp dir. There you find a MP installation folder. Inside there is another folder named deploy. There you found some exe files. One of them is the installer for TV Server/Client... But If you do so you have to take care of SQL installation and all other dependencies yourself. This should be done only if you know what you do..

It's a lot easier to make a backup of your existing MP installation, do a clean install and write your backup back..
