    Hello everyone,

So i want to be able to add some of the extras that come on DVD's for TV shows to play through TV Series. I have read the FAQ here about importing series, but it does not really work for episodes

FAQ - mptvseries - Frequently Asked Questions. - MP-TVSeries: plug-in for organizing TV shows in MediaPortal - Google Project Hosting

For example I have an extra for Family Guy which is a live read of the controversial abortion episode that never aired called Partial Terms of Endearment S08E21. The actual episode is in TVDB, but the live read that comes on the DVD isn't.

I tried naming the this live read of the script Family Guy.S00E00.Partial Terms of Endearment Live Read but when I do an import it knows the series, but then cannot match it with anything (which I expect), but then I expected to be able to edit it some how so that it would show up in a specials area, but it does not. Maybe I told it to skip this on import and I need to try it again after undoing it?

I could create a new series that is called Family Guy Specials, but this seems a little wrong. Any help with this is appreciated.

    Thanks
    Steve

First off - There are some DVD extras that have been aired at some point in time... these extras need to be added to Online TV Database - An open directory of television shows for HTPC software. If you do, TVS will take care of everything. That being said, if this extra has NEVER been aired..... then read below

Okay, well Steve, you have taken the right step. Name the file like you have an import it. Then go into the TVS Config and find the episode. Put in the name, air date, etc that you want it to have. Once that is done, now all you need is to add graphics. When you are ready to add graphics read this post: https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/my-tvseries-162/hey-there-sports-fans-help-yourself-read-97680/

As sports are also not allowed on thetvdb, this post will explain a lot.

Thanks Lyfesaver74. So I got those added without any problem once renamed them a little and then ran the importer again, it picked up the new ones and I was able to enter into it information to be displayed. Thanks for the link to the Sports fans thing. I'll check it out soon.

Now the only other thing that I need to figure out is how to copy the settings (database) that I have on my computer so that I don't have to go through the process on the three other 3 computers that I have running media portal. Should I start a new thread or do you think you can point me in this new direction?

    Thanks for the help

    Steve

under vista/7 make sure u are seeing hidden files ad folders.... then go to C:\ProgramData\Team Mediaportal\databases\MP-TVseriers.db3 (or something close) the db3 file is the database, just copy it over plus any images u personally added.
