Hi,
Still early days in my MP setup; however I did have a problem with intermittent stuttering when watching a movie off the local disk, or playing musc (local) as well.
I spent ages messing around with codec's and so on, only to find it's actually a problem with the wireless networking within Vista!
Basically, Vista tries to scan for networks in the background, and this can cause problems with media playback as the network stack always gets a higher priority. I found some references to a command line that can be run (and put in a batch file and so on) but I found an easier solution in the shape of a little app called "WLAN Optimizer" (google it).
With this running (it will auto-start with windows) the problem seems to be solved, so I hope that's of help to someone!
