1.27.0 How to clear Subtitle File cache? (5 Viewers)

It appears that MP somehow caches previously used subtitle files for subsequent use next time the same video is played. My problem is that when I edit the file to adjust the timing of the subtitles, instead of picking up the newly edited file, it seems to be using the old file? Is there some way to clear this cache to force MP to allow me to pick the newly edited file?

The question is a bit broad so it's hard to give a solid anwser.
In which part is this happening? My videos/MovingPictures/Onlinevideos?
And do you use something like subcentral/subtitledownloader?
Also log files in full debug mode of such a playback where it picks the old subtitlefile could be helpful here
