Just a quick question, I'm using a Hauppauge 1950 tuner card, I'm guessing there is no way of getting HD from the STB to the tuner without it becoming SD is there? (Revo 3610 HTPC has no Firewire port )

Of course, that assumes that the HDMI output on your STB is not HDCP protected. Even if it is, there are certain ways to work around that.

Yeah unfortunately as cool as the Colossus looks I need an external USB solution. Thanks for the tip though.

Hmmm
Then probably the best you can do is component inputs on something like the HDPVR. I don't know of any device that we support other than the Colossus that has digital non-tuner inputs...

Hello all...I just build an HTPC using MP 1.2.1 and Hauppauge 2250 Kit (that comes with IR blaster and MCE controle)....After trying for about 5 days , I got everything working, but the remote only work when I installed the IRSS...
Now I have the Blaster changing the channel of my STB using the Blaster utility that comes with Hauppauge and the controle are working fine with MP using the IRSS but I am not being able to make the controle change the channel (blasting) from the MP....I tryied a lot of thing but I really do not how to figure out and make the controle from MP interface blasting the STB...

May anyone please help me?

Hi all

I am based in South Africa and have a set top box issue...i think.

I located this forum and hoped it would solve my problem. Unfortunately it has not. I have had an HTPC, running Media Center, for about a year now. I have a Hauppauge 1200 PCI TV card with an RCA input connector which i plug from my DSTV STB decoder. I also have a K-World UB424-D USB TV tuner. For Media Center i cannot use two tuners (to my knmowledge), however i would like to as i also have another STB decoder for my MNET, which i receive separately.

I have an MCE IR blaster as well as an iMon remote/software setup.

My first issue at hand is that i cannot get any TV signal to be viewed. I eventually, from this forum, have been able to at least get a listing in my MP Server Config of the SVideo and CVBS channels from both tuners it seems, however if i try preview these channels, i receive an error, 'Preview failed:UnknownError'. When i try select something else in MP Server config, it then tells me 'TV Service not started'. It just does not seem to be detecting the signal from the inputs, where Media Center does.

I have created a file of all the logs that have occurred as MP just seems to bomb out after doing most things. The file is attached here.

Can anyone help me resolve this as i am really wanting to use MP so that i can operate the data on other machines and tv's throughout the house.
