I'm surprised no-one's thought to put an option in MP to make it not scroll in response to mouse movements, as I imagine most users just operate it with a remote from the couch these days, which works very well. I think even users without a remote could use it perfectly well with just a keyboard. Hopefully someone will consider making it more "couch-friendly".
Yes, this is one of the most irritating features of MP1. I have also often asked why this feature is in in the first place, instead of having it only scroll at the very top or bottom of the list, or with specific buttons or just with the mouse wheel instead, or whether it's possible to simply deactivate it. But I never got an answer :(.

I think it would be really easy to optionally disable all mouse actions in GUI. AFAIK there are only 3: mouse move, mouse click, mouse double click. Even without looking at the code, I'm fairly confident it would take me no more than 10 minutes to implement this :) Will have it in mind for 1.3 release.

Great to hear. Thanks for looking at this.

Yes. It would be nice. But remember that many of us use a mouse (or emulation on the remote control) in the some plugins (mainly one of the three browsers plugins). I suggest to define a new GUI ACTION "Toggle Mouse". I assume that will not only be switched on / off mouse movement, but also the activity and display the cursor. A good feature would be to move the cursor by its inactivity to the neutral position.

I now use an external utility "Cursor Hider". At the remote I defined key "Toggle Mouse". Cursor Hider has another functionalities too, like cursor hide after preset time of mouse inactivity, and others... This utility is very inspirative.
