How to forward rewind with VLC (1 Viewer)

Hi all,

I have the default configuration and I am using the VLC player on a remote machine.

The VLC launches correctly, the video is displayed. I am about to pause, resume, increase
speed, decrease speed, but obviously the fast forward and fast rewind button are disabled.

Did I missed something ? Did I need to use transcode or something else? For the moment I
am just using direct mode.

I think there's a problem with VLC and the rtsp implementation of MediaPortal (which is used when you use direct). It should be able to seek within the timeshift buffer but for some reason vlc doesn't correctly detect the length of the stream.

If you transcode you won't be able to seek within the stream at all iirc.
