Forgive me for being stupid but I just can't suss this out.

I now have my Sky Television feed going into Media Portal and the quality is great so I would now like to be able to record programs when I'm not there. Now I know I need all the sky channels programed into MP and a blaster type program to change the channels, but how? Would someone be as kind as to point me to what I should be doing.

I have been looking around but I seem to be going in circles and getting very confused.

I presume you have a standard MCE remote control from your profile. This should include two IR transmitters. I use TVServer but I think this should be the same if u are using MP directly.

Make sure ServerBlaster is configured as a plugin.
The config screen of the plugin should allow you to pick the blaster (Microsoft) and associate the 2 channels with TV cards ( I worked out the association by trial & error).

Then use Blaster.exe to learn the codes 0-9 from your Sky remote.

I've just tried to replicate what I did and now find that blaster.exe is crashing on my machine!. I think it may be related to a .net framework update pushed by MS the other day.

Anyway u then need to copy the ServerBlaster.dat file to I'm guessing the Mediaportal root dir (I copied it to the root of TV Server.

Then make sure the channel number in the analog tab = the actual sky channel number (this is in the edit channel option of TV server config).

I think it should now work.
