I used Mediaportal awhile back with a generic pc remote -- it's shown here: https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/threads/generic-pc-remote-configuration-question.59460/
Before all I needed to do to make this work was to check 'Use general HID device' under Remote settings within MP configuration. Even without checking that, basic navigation -- Up, Down, etc.-- worked but to be able to pause video playback I needed to make sure that was checked.
Now I've come back to MP but even though I've checked off 'Use general HID device' my remote will not pause playback. Nor will it stop playback. Basic navigation through menus works but nothing that includes Play/Pause/Stop ability.
I checked out this page -- https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/threads/generic-keyboard-remote-input-plugin.25755/ -- but frankly I'm not a very advanced user and most of that doesn't make sense to me. It's a little annoying that something so simple like 'pause' functionality in a Generic remote would require any kind of trickery.
I did install the plugin that post referred to but that didn't change anything.
Can someone please tell me, in very basic, specific terms, how to make this work? I'd sincerely appreciate it -- thanks in advance!!
