Hi,

Could someone give me some tips on how to do a fresh install of MP 1.0 Final? I know 1.0.2 is the latest, but I have a problem with this version and so want to go back to 1.0. When I run the 1.0 installer it fails with the message "Download of Settings File failed".

Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers,

I am not sure if it's possible to downgrade from 1.0.2 level to 1.0.0. I will just uninstall (complete, also db's) whole release (example 1.0.2) and just run 1.0.0 installation script.

The issue on this method are that you always loosing all your settings etc. I have backups from all level so it's quite fast to restore settings, tuning paramaters etc.

    Cheers

Yeah, this is what I've been trying to do (complete uninstall of 1.0.2 then fresh re-install of 1.0), but it seems that 1.0 wont install because at the point where it checks the internet it complains with the "Download of Settings File failed" error. I guess as new MP versions are released the "DeployApplications.xml" (I think thats what its called) is updated to work with deploy tool matching the new version and doesnt work with the previous versions anymore.

I'm hoping theres a way around this to install a previous version.

    Cheers,

Oh. So the answer appears to be ...

    - Run Media Portal 1.0 Final installer (Deploy Tool)
    - Wait for it to fail with the error
    - Go have a look in %TEMP% for a sub directory directory called "MediaPortal Installation"
    - Have a look in the "Deploy" sub directory
    - Run "package-mediaportal.exe" and "package-tvengine.exe"

These will install Media Portal for you. Tested with MP 1.0 Final.

Hi, I have the same issue. I want to keep a final set of installation file for 1.0.0 -- 1.0.2 requires dotnet 3.5 (which is too much hassle for me), and later versions do not have old single-seat TV pluggin anymore ( I have never been able to get a smooth installation of the new TV engine ).

It would be good if we can download a set of files for 1.0.0 installation that does not need to check a file (that is non-existent any more) on the net. Then I will directly go to MP 2 later.
