M2ts convert to ts

Try this: TSMuxer

Do a search on google and download. There are 2 .exe files. Run the GUI one and convert away! I've had similar problem and this has sorted me out.

SAF sounds scary after reading that thread. I don't want to break anything as everything else is working great after a few months of work. Do you think it is an issue with the PowerDVD 8 codec?

I see others on that thread talking about a grey or blank screen while audio plays. That will be the first frame of the video - the same issue I am experiencing.

If I get a spare few hours, I'll see how much damage I can do and install SAF.

Any idea what the MKX error is all about? Can this be corrected?

    Cheers.

    Hello.

Fear not about SAF, you can simply uninstall it if you dont like it (and reinstall PowerDVD8).
PowerDVD can be the trouble maker, it is hard to say.

Rather than installing more codecs, I resolved the problem by converting the files to ts. However, since the HD camcorder creates a seperate file everytime you start and stop recording, I have lots of little m2ts files like the 6 second file I linked to, and it gets tedious to play each file by pressing enter on each one. So the plan is to combine several files for the day into one .ts file.

I first tried tsMuxeR and it seemed to work well and went through the motions, but it doesn't remux the multiple streams correctly. MediaPortal only played the first file that was combined and it didn't know about the rest. It appears to be a problem in tsMuxeR. Doing some research I found others with the same problem.

The solution is to use a utility named TSSplitter which has a function to combine several ts or m2ts files together into one file. Then to get it to .ts format, you need to run the new file through another utility named tsRemux. This works very well and plays the entire .ts file with all combined parts.

But what a hassle. If it is a Cyberlink problem then I hope they fix this one day so I can play my home movie .m2ts files natively.

    Ross.

I have PDVD8 for my TV codecs (SD and HD). I've installed ffdshow and haali media splitter separately (not using the SAF package). It didn't work without the haali/matroska splitter. I use ffdshow now as my "Videos" h.264 codec, and so m2ts playback is working well (I have AVCHD 1080i m2ts files from my sony hd camcorder, no bluray stuff).
h.264 TV is still working well also.
so not sure what the mentioned PDVD8 comflict is. that said, I don't use the PDVD8 app itself, just the codec.
