Hi guys, I have a bit of a problem...I think.

I have one dvb-c card (FloppyDTV) and a double analog card (PVR500). The available analog channels are just a fraction of the amount of digital channels available. Because of this, some channels are only available digital.
So what I want is:
- to record a tv channel take one of the analog cards, if available (so I can still watch all the channels live, while recording an other channel),
- if not, record the digital channel.
this should be no problem...just give the analog cards higher priority.

...But...this is not all, there is a catch :)
- I also want to watch live tv digital when nothing is recording!

So I want to record analog, when analog is available, but watch live tv digital. Is this possible?

    Yes, this should be possible.

In the Television -> TV-Channel Groups you can assign various channels to various groups. If you assign all you channels from each one of the tuners (ex. DVB-C = Group 1, Analog 1 = Group 2, Analog 2 = Group 3) you can select from which tuner you want to watch when you select channel.

If you have previously selected that you wish to record Programme 1 on Group 3, you just select the channel you want to watch on either Group 1 or Group 2.

Haven't tested this though, but it should work in theory ;)

    Good luck!

    i have the same problem (1 cinergy 1200c and 1 pvr-500)
do not think it is an solution to give every tune a seperate channel group (i have combined the analog and the digtal channels to let the scheduler decide which tuner to use)

a solution (with the look at mythTV): give the tuners a recording priority

    Yeah you're totally right! :D
This would be the simple solution for this problem and an improvement on usability! :)
I guess this could be implemented quite easy, but I'm not a programmer...

i do not think it will be easy
and it is a rather big change on the recording-choose-tuner-algorithm and the livetv-choose-tuner-algorithm

You already have the ability of tuner priority, or is it not working.

in MPsetupTV\TVcard\edit card priority, if you set the analog at 10 and the DVB at 1, then recording should choose the analog first.

If not working, then thats a problem and needs to be reported.

@ Vertiger. Ok, well, that's a bit of a shame...but I've made an Improvement Suggestion anyway and I still hope somebody will pick it up soon :)

@ Paranoid Delusion, please read my first post carefully again :) I know this card priority function exists and it works great, but thats not what I asked for. We're talking about adding a record priority function.
