how to save imdb info (1 Viewer)

first post so hi all

anyway ive searched these forums endlessly so apoligies if repeated topic. my question is what needs to be saved so that if i format drive or upgrade mp, i am still able to use all the information for my films/music. what parts of mp should i constantly back up so not to lose hours of work.

also ive seen talk in the plugins forum of an imdb auto download tool, but have had problems finding the tool, any help would be gratefully appreciated,

It's the movie database. In case of an update it should remain. Before a format, you may want to check the mediaportal/database directory. videodatabase contains the movieinfo and I believe (not at home) the music is saved in musicdatabase (fairly straightforward.)
Might be best to put the whole mediaportal dir aside in case of a format, that will save your TV settings etc too.

as onkl said, savest way would be to copy the whole MP directory.

After fresh windows install, you can go three ways:

1) Copy the folder back and simply run MP, it will work without a new install
2) Copy the folder back and install MP over it
3) Install MP and copy the folder back
