Hello,

I'm new to MediaPortal and I can't seem to figure out how to enable music visualisation. I've read various threads where people say how to enable full screen visualisation; but I have no visualisation to begin with. So there is nothing to display at full screen. When I play a music file or a music CD, the box at the bottom left remains black. When I press X for fullscreen; nothing happens.

I have WMP10 installed, as well as some sonique visualisation plugins, which I placed in \MusicPlayer\plugins\visualizations, as stated in this thread:
https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/showthread.php?t=10766

I also installed the GFORCE visualisation plugin, which, according to that same thread is supported.

I haven't been able to find a place to setup my visualisations,
I would expect that I would be able to select the visualisation I want to use somewhere. I can't find it anywhere; not in the external config tool or in the internal settings.

I've searched this forum, the FAQ and wiki, but I can't find an answer to my question anywhere.

Any help is appreciated.

you have to enable the "BASS engine" to get visualisations.

in the MP config, once you choose bass engine you get the option to select the vis.

I tried that before,

but the only options I get are:

Output level
Fade in/out
Gapless playback
Cross fading
Buffering

And still no visualisation in MP.

And in the thread I mentioned, it says:

Note that these features ONLY work if you have selected "Internal Music Player" on the Music-->Player Settings page in Configuration.exe.

    Hi,
WouterW, it is not implemented into 0.2.1.0, but it's in current SVN. The reason for this is some bugs related to viz not fixed yet.

I guess it hasn't been implemented in 0.2.0.0 either?

So let me get this straight; there has never been visualisation support in any officially released version of MP?

with 0.2.0.0 i the vizualisation was the one you had selected with windows media player. and you had to set mediaportal to use the "internal player". no config of viz within mp.

    Well, that doesn't work either!

I have NO visualisation at all.
I have several plugins for WMP that work fine in WMP and microsoft media center.
But all I get in MP is a black square.
