How to set up with Digital Cable/Sattelite? (1 Viewer)

I have a leadtek tv2000 xp expert card and MediaPortal recognized it, but is not finding any channels. I believe this is because I have digital sattelite(soon to be cable). If I get an IR blaster will Media Portal recognize the channels? How can I set up Media Portal to recognixe my digital channels.

Are we using FTA (Free to Air) i dont know if Plugins such as Vplug or s2emu of that nature would work with this program some 1 who is more familiar

as for vplug and s2emu etc., no MP team doesn't plan on allowing plugins to work

those plugins that i mentioned are what allows 2 view sat tv with other programs such as ProgDvb for example but i dont think Media portal supports those plugins

but is it possible to get those plugins working under mediaportal? can only get my sat working when i have those using progdvb
