Hi, I do understand that there are quite a few people who have an elaborate client-server setup. Setup that run very successfully. Good for them. I can only give observations from my perspective. I have been a Vista Media Center + XBox 360 user for sometime now. My family is also used to it. There are certain limitations with VMC that I hope to overcome with MP. Compared to VMC the setting up of MP is excruciatingly painful. Imagine for a setup that has an external STB one needs to manually key in all the hundreds of channels even though I have an XMLTV EPG file. Just when I think I got everything all set the IR commands do not work forcing me re-learn the STB codes over and over again. I know Team-MP does not have as much dough as M$ does. Being a freeware, users probably have no right to bitch about the product either. Though MS has lots of money they do not solve my problems if I run into one, do they? It is the forums that I go to (thegreenbutton, avsforum etc). It is only a matter of hours, often minutes, before my problem is resolved by one of the forum members. Generally, people do not know what logs to look for. At least in those forums my observation had been that I am told what logs need to be included and also how those logs can be generated. I will give you an example here at MP. Please see this thread (https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/mce-replacement-plugin-165/irss-loses-learnt-ir-codes-frequently-52824/#post362268). I posted that thread yesterday and so far there has been no response to the query other than moving it to another forum. It has already been a while since it was moved to that forum and I am still waiting for a kind soul to suggest a solution. If you notice, in that thread I have also asked for what logs need to be included. The problem is that I do not know what and where those logs are.
