how to stream TV to another computer ? (1 Viewer)

I am aware of the option to stream rtsp://x.x.x.x/stream1.0 using VLC
- I cannot seek when playing that stream.

So, I am looking for a way to watch TV from mediaportal on my other computer or office, and both are running Linux, so unless somebody managed to run TVClient in Wine or CrossoverOffice, then that won't help.

Is there a working web-streaming plugin, or another way to stream that offers seeking and maybe even channel-change ?
