Well i did a full uninstall and reinstall of MP and pasted this:

into the MediaPortal xml and it worked. There must have been some artifacts left from some thing after uninstalling the plugins before I did the upgrade that prevented the color guide from working.

A question regarding the selection - would it be possible to make the list as you have it in the Channelist? At least on my machine it's a rather long one and going through all these entries without any Filter and for every genre over again is anyoing. I think a way displaying it as it is done in the Channellist with the groups would be easier.
