How to use Media Portal with Digital Cable? (1 Viewer)

Hi all,

I'm new to Media Portal.

I'm looking for any information on how to use this app with a digital cable box and a WinTV-go Plus card (if that's even possible?). I've got it working fairly well for channels 1-99 if i by-pass the cable box, It'd be nice if I could put it in-line post cable box and use Media Portal to control the cable box.

If anyone could point me in the general direction of some information on how to do this I'd be greatly appreciative.


From what I can gather, it's looking like an IR->IR Blaster and using the composite in on the WinTv-go Card. Now the question is where to find information on setting the IR Blaster?

You're on the right track......you need to use the composite input on your TV card which is connected to your digital box.

Use the search feature and you should be able to find info on getting MP setup to change the channel on your digital box using IR Blaster.
