Under MP 1.11 I get minimal data path congestion when recording 4 channels of TV to the server while watching a movie from Media Shares (Client 3) on Client 1 and watching a TV recording on Client 2 ... will MP2 direct all media files through the Server while recording TV? Will that cause some over crowding in bandwidth to the Server ... or only the DB (path/info/thumbs/backgrounds) is shared and the media is played along the shortest path from Client 3 to the Client 1?... here is a diagram of my setup.

I don't know exactly, so please someone correct me if I'm wrong.

For me it looks like the content always is streamed directly from the source. So your setup shouldn't make a problem.

In my setup I have a MP2 server (TV server) without other media and my office PC with all the HDDs (amongst some more clients). When i run the MP2 client on my office PC, it connects to the server of course, but when actually streaming there is basically no network traffic.
