OK thanks for your infos, that s what i was afraid of.
Right this is not really a problem because this HTPC is for my brother and he wont need more than 2 HDD. But i ll have to find another case :s where i can put at least 4 HDD, will it be as good as the antec fusion ... :s

I make one htpc for a friend with the silverstone lc16M and you can put up to six HDD and more behind the lcd panel and a dvd bay as well, its very nice case but more expensive and noisy but if you buy good fans it will be very good option and brings imon remote not so many problems as antec.

I looked at the slilverstone cases but they are a lot more expensive, without PSU, and not so well finished inside(like the HDD bay made to be silent in the antec ).
After thinking about it, i might have to buy too big HDD and go with the antec fusion!
Didnt try the VFD yet.

OK, so i am almost done with my brother HTPC.
I want to say thanks to armandp for this great topic, helped me a lot!

armandp: what do you use to check temperature?

i still find the fans a little noisy even in low speed. I am thinking of changing the fans. Anyone can guide me for a really silent fan ?

@armandp: what do you use to check temperature?

the free AMD Overdrive tool can provide you with the 3 temperatures (system, cpu and northbridge) Note that for some CPU's like my 4850e Dual Core the temperature's are only displayed on the Status Monitor-> Voltage/Temperature tab in the bottom right corner. I also use this tool to stress test the system to see if the temperatures stay in normal range.

Hi I´m using PWDVD8 in Media portal, I configure MP and daemon to mount the iso when I click it from my videos(dont know why but it doesnt work with myfilms) and I get pwdvd8 launched in full screen mode but when I send a command from the remote works over MP and not over PWDVD8,any ideas of how make pwdvd to recive the ir comands?? or minimize MP ???
I´m using antec fusion black and harmony as a MCE remote.
    thanks!!!

Thanks for this thread. I have built a machine that is working on very similar hardware and this thread has been invaluable. Will post details of my system soon.

No i have dived into plugin development and have not changed anything to my current HTPC setup. I will be doing a reinstall when i get back from vacation.
Will take a look at new hardware options around that time too ;)

    edit:
most likely i will be upgrading the htpc to the new
GA-MA790GP-DS4H motherboard and add a phenom (which one i still don't know)
