Thanks for your reply and thoughts!

If im trying to have 1280x720p on both of my screens it only works great with my projection screen, on my touch its only showing part of the screen as you said. And this is my problem, the touch natives resolution is 1024x768 and thats why i was hoping i could get two different resolution with two graphic cards in clone mode. I know i could get clone mode with my present card but not with different resolution. I have been testing many different combination to make it work but no sucess! :( Two graphic card was my last thought but now im out of ideas as you say it wont work.. :)

When using remote desktop or vnc viewer im able to scale the whole desktop... this would work for me if it wasnt for the lagging issues, also i dont want a second computer just to have the client on one which is wall built in, and server on my htpc. If it would be possible to have two different acounts on same computer, and then have the client on one, and server on the other it could be working as this wouldnt lagging at all? (maybe...)

PussyWagon, read those threads, there is everything about your problem. This issue discouraged me from buying case with built-in touch screen.

    CybrDisplay External Status Plugin

    Touchscreen LCD display Plugin

    Ruud, do I deserve response?

    kesar

    Hi Kesar,
I'm still on board off this thread, so you deserve response ;).
Regarding your provided links: some awesome work is going in there, but my previous point about yet another application that needs maintenance etc. springs into mind again.... I like to reuse: we already have a super interface , lets 'reuse' it for our touchscreen, that way the maintenance hurdle is much easier taken because changes not only affect the touchscreen users but everybody (the good old: economies of scale rule)

I begin to fancy the idea of extending the windows desktop over two screens and then have a MP screens be skinned over these two screens where one screen is only (video) output and the other is the normal MP interface. If it is technically possible, then we can have everything without additional applications: it would be a matter of skinning.

IDEA: Well when I come to think of it: the only change that needs to take place is that when you press full screen in e.g. TV or video, the output (your movie or tv program) goes to your second monitor in stead of over your MP interface, your MP menus stay on the other screen (same as they do now where they are 'hidden' behind your output (?)

Any developer with thoughts on that one?

    regards,
    Ruud.

    Ruud,

As far, as I understood your idea this is the main concept of Cybrdisplay plugin. The only constraint there is the same resolution of the main screen and touch screen. Additionally this is not the constraint of the plugin but rather GPU drivers. Correct me if I'm wrong.

If you mean the same interface as MP, I agree. It would be nice to have double screen functionality in MP and I hope MP2 will develop in this way. Nevertheless it will still be constrained by the same resolution issue.

I asked about reply to my previous post on the second page :D

    Have a nice day.

Thats a great idea Ruud, and actually... the only thing would have been to have the "video" window to be one moveable window, just to let you move it over to the display you want to use for video output and then maximize it and thats it? Couldnt be to hard to do?
Anyway, it would not dissolve my problem. Because thats mean everytime a movie has ended I have to get up to the touchscreen and navigate through the menues to get further. Because you wouldnt see anything more than a blackscreen on your "video" window when its finished... correct me if im wrong! :)

Currently I'm looking for a new lcd touch screen. Do you think 8'' or even 7'' wide screen (16:9) will be fine? I mean the ergonomics, finger touch, etc.? As an alternative I have 10.4'' but this one is 4:3 or I should aim at 12''. This is the biggest I consider.

Ok, I start to draw things, but first I have to determine the width of the box/case/furniture and to do this I must choose the touch screen. 7'' is fancy, but I have to be sure that it properly displays the GUI, every text is readable and 'touch precision' on this kind of panel is enough. Could you direct me here a little? I have never used this small screen, especially with 1360/768 signal scaled to 800/480.
    Thx, kesar.

l would have choosen at least 10", in fact i think i would have choosen 12" in wide format.... that would have been perfect for me when its built into the wall! :) But it depends on your purpose. 7 inches i think would be to small for both text, covers and finger touching. But that would Ruud knows better who have it. :p

No correction needed, that is why I go for clone mode: same on both screens.
