I ended up using Vista on my install. I went to clean install my XP pro gain and it required me to put in a new Key. It said that I had reached the maxium number of installs on that liscense. HMMMMM $140 for xp or 129 For Vista home premium. Guess I am the guinea pig. I have the exact same board and I have 2 gigs of ocz ram two 750 gig seagates.

For the record. I have had no issues with play back of tv, dvd, harddrive stored videos, photos or anything else hardware related. I have had some issues with the movie data base screwing up my movie info.. But I attribute it to me doing something wrong and just a learning curve.

I gave up!

Sold that computer to a friend who is using it for office and internet only... Hope he will become happy.

I tried to install the Budget C-1500 HD card on my old computer (P4-2,4 GHZ, 1.3 GB RAM, Raedon 9550 AGP graphics card, XP SP2 Live Update) and experienced same problems. Does MyTV run stable on any computer????

The software which came with the card runs ok... sometimes a jitter but in general it is watchable ;)

No I am worried to start another try since we are talking about at least EUR 600-700.- which is not peanuts if that damn thing is not running... can anybody suggest a HTPC configuration which works for sure???

Check the WIKI there is a hardware section containing user reviews, etc...

I must say though I have the same MOBO and I don't have any problems...

Check the green button for configurations.
Basically, if u go with tested and true components you shouldn't have problems. That configuration is very entry-level btw.

Too bad you had so many problems! I am running the same motherboard, with XP x64, MP0.2.3 RC3+SVN.

...I wouldn't say that I have never had a problem, but nothing strictly MB related. Get the latest ATI drivers, ffdshow & Cyberlink for codecs and you should be good. I really like all of the audio-vidio input/output options without having to buy extra hardware.

On that note, if you are commited to having an open source HTPC, you should be commited. :)
Oh I mean, you should be commited to tinkering with it until it works.
