Just want to preface this with... yes I did search, and yes I did see several other threads about this. However, none of them seem to present an actual solution.

Alright, so I just went out and purchased a Hauppauge hvr-1250 hoping to use it to record shows for my htpc. After installing the software I can watch and record tv using the oem WinTV software from Hauppauge, as well as GB-PVR. However, I can't get MediaPortal to detect any channels. The card itself is listed as a Hauppauge 885 in TV Server, and no matter what type of scan i try, it will not pick up ANY channels. I made sure to check the box to scan for QAM instead of ATSC and tried every single scan setting. I also read several other threads on here with the same issues but so far no one seems to have a proper solution. If anyone could provide some assistance it'd be great. I was also thinking to returning the 1250 and buying an 1800 if that is guaranteed to work, but if I can get this 1250 running I'd be very happy.

Thanks guys!
